Day 13: Viola and off to Denver

After our second night of thunderstorms, our friend J whipped up an amazing breakfast of chocolate pancakes and scrambled eggs (the kids were thrilled).  We took the kids to the park to run a bit of energy out of them before beginning our trek to Denver.  Mr. 9 drew a map of how to get to the secret passage in World 8 for C and the kids managed to sneak in two games of Forbidden Island and Lego Start Wars.  We were all sad to say good-bye and the kids wanted to know when they'll see their new friends again.  I told them I didn't know.  They decided they would just have to send letters and pictures and we could drive out again next year to visit again.


And then it was on to Denver.  We made it to our goal - within sight of the Colorado border.  So it will be an easy drive in the morning to meet up with Nana, Papa, aunts, uncles, and cousins!
