Day 12: Wichita

Given the common love of Star Wars among our families, our friends thought a trip to a special Star Wars exhibit at the nearby science museum would be fun, so Friday morning we packed a picnic and enjoyed a day in Wichita.  As we drove up to Exploration Place we spotted The Keeper of the Plains and knew we couldn't leave without standing in his shadow.

The Star Wars exhibit was great, with lots of activities for the kids where you could build or interact with robots, and all of the boys were thrilled to see the robots and spaceships from the movies they love.  The kids also explored the medieval area, complete with costumes, a catapult to launch, and a castle to climb, and the aviation area, where Mr. 9 and I tried out the Millenium Falcon Experience.  Then we walked out to The Keeper of Plains and the kids tried to climb up the rocks.  Back at the house we were treated to a bonfire complete with smores.  Once all the kids were down for the night, we enjoyed birthday pie and stayed up too late chatting.
