It was a lovely morning so Grandpa and Mr. 10 headed out golfing (despite Grandpa being rather sick) and Grandma and Mr. 8 set up the sewing machine. While they worked on an airplane bag, Mr. 1 and I spent time with Alfred the goose on the back deck. Mr. 1 loved Alfred and spent at least half his time in St. Louis on the back deck. Cousin K joined us when she was in the mood and it was fun to see the cousins together. Mr. 4 spent a quiet morning playing with the toys downstairs, enjoying having it all to himself while everyone else was occupied.
Before heading up to Chicago by train, we squeezed a quick trip to see Eads Bridge which we had been discussing as part of school. The building of Eads Bridge is very interesting (and inspired quite a discussion on "the bends") and it was great to see the real thing!
Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma for a great visit!
