Under the weather

Mr. 2 was not feeling well tonight and had a bit of a rough day with lots of snuggling.  He slept right through dinner and Ms. A's goodbye party.  He may be only the first as we all began sniffling this evening.  This was not the beginning to fall I had pictured.

Last days of summer

Since Mr. 11 was doing a camp at his new school during the official last week, we decided to spend our last day together checking out the new Lego Discovery Center.  It's not quite Legoland but it looked like fun for our lego-loving boys.

It was a bit crowded when we got there and we waited quite some time for the first ride and then it was on to building.  The boys spent quite a bit of time building cars and racing them down the track while Mr. 3 built a huge building out of windows and happily opened each one to say hello.  There is a big playground that Mr. 3 was not quite tall enough for and all his brothers helped boost him up each step and he was so excited to be a part of the fun.  Watching everyone work together was one of my favorite moments.

We thought we would end our time with the 4-D movie.  Everyone enjoyed it and when we came out the whole place seemed empty.  So I let the boys ride their favorite ride over and over again despite the lateness of the hour.   And we had to fit in one last game of pinball baseball in Lego Fenway Park and a race on the Charles before we could go.

Our cellist

Mr. 5 decided he wanted to wanted to take cello lessons and I'm excited to have a cellist in the house.  So far he's only had a month of lessons but he seems to really like it and his teacher is wonderful.  It won't be long before we have our own Piano Guys (but with 2 pianos, a cellist, and a violinist as Mr. 2 is still firmly set on the violin).

Back yard

Mr. 2 is in love with the back yard. Given the option, he might very well spend every waking moment there. He loves the sandbox, and his wagon, and this game, which we can't convince him is not named baseball.
