Master 0 had his 9 month visit today a little late - he's now well over 10 months but at least we made it there. He's almost 21 lbs which puts him at the 34th percentile for weight and 31 inches which is the 94th percentile for height. He seems to be growing well and is crawling with great speed and pulling up on things (which means we need to work on the next level of baby-proofing well before we'd actually finished the first). We've been working on baby signs but he typically would rather say the word so he says "mo" for more and "hi" quite clearly. He also says "mamamam" for mommy and "da" for daddy. Although I did not hear it, I'm told he also said "uh oh" very clearly this weekend - he certainly hears it enough! He's developed a clear idea of what he wants and is not happy to have his plans thwarted (what would we have done if Master 0 wasn't strong-willed - we wouldn't know what to do). As Mr. 7 always says, we really do have the best baby!

Visting Part 2
Andy
Master 0 is very attached to a stuffed lion he got for Christmas. We named him Andy after Androcles the lion and he's very fuzzy and snuggly! He's an important bedtime pal - we're debating getting a second but having two doesn't always make things easier.
The hat and sweater Master 0 is modeling were made by a good friend who is an amazing knitter (among many talents). She gave them to Master 0 when he was born and they've been the perfect size this winter!

Quit for Master 0
Visiting
We spent a few days with each side of the family. Great grandma and great grandpa's house was our first stop. It was great to spend time with them and hear stories about when great grandpa was growing up on the farm and about flying piper cubs cross country. Turns out that they didn't actually even try to parachute a cat out the window of the barn (the story had been a bit embellished in the retelling) but when the cat refused they almost parachuted great grandpa out the window!
We also got to introduce great grandpa to snap circuits (Mr. 5 got snap circuits for his birthday and is excited to build things now that he's old enough).

Wrestling with grandpa was lots of fun!

Traveling
We decided to take advantage of my vacation and the boys February vacation week and drive out to Indianapolis to visit family. Unfortunately we chose to leave on a day when there were travel advisories for winter storms most of the route. After much discussion we headed out at 3am and took a more northern route to miss the storm. Things went well until we headed down along the lake from Buffalo to Cleveland. The snow picked up and the roads were a bit more icy. About an hour outside of Cleveland the roads became even more slippery and we decided it was time to stop. The boys only requirement in a hotel is that it have a pool and after being stuck in the car all day they were excited to spend some time in the water. Even Master 0 took a quick swim.
Our small baby is not so small these days - luckily he's still not quite tall enough to get his brothers toys off the bed - but it's really only a matter of time.
