We ended 2013 with a great time at friends, and carried/pushed the kids back into our own house in the wee hours of 2014. While the cracks in our sleep schedule showed at times, it was a promising start to the year!
This Mr. 2, since getting over the worst of his cold (which felt like it lasted all of December) has been quite possibly in the best mood of his life these last few days. Today, he used the potty for the first time ever, and later, performed an encore!
Mr. 4 and Mr. 2 had some kind of spinning/dancing party in the kitchen:
Mr. 10 and Mr. 8 started the day learning some graph theory by mapping out Mr. 8's new book, MAZE (attempting to finish a childhood quest abandoned by his father)
The studio work eventually attracted onlookers:
Mr. 10 and Mr. 8 also combined talents and Christmas presents to create the New Year's greeting at the top of the post:
We ended the day with a caramel corn picnic and a screening of Willy Wonka*, having just finished the book.
Another 364 days like this one, and we'll be in good shape. Hope the same to all of you!
* (who has only ever been played by Gene Wilder, despite anything you may have seen or heard to the contrary.)
